Some sort of rationale
I write and paint to discover my own story
It’s simple and complicated all at the same time
Sometimes I’m a dunce
and the next moment a genius
Who’s to say what matters and at what level
The discourse may resonate with others
Or be rejected as inconsequential
That’s ok by me
I need to express it and see what it looks like
and how it sounds
I’m content if others travelling adjacent to me can briefly share the thought space and untangle it in their own way
Art
I see art as directly connecting individuals with the perception of the world in the context of beauty, complaint and intent.
Art is essentially subjective and interpretable through individual experiences, relationships and intuition.
It should facilitate deeper thoughts, emotions and debate.
Art represents freedom of expression, exploration,visual voicing and sharing.
Poetry
For me, writing and reading poetry allows the exploration and expression of deeper meanings in the ordinary circumstances of life.
By rethinking and reframing experience, a more sensitive interpretation of intentions and actions of others and one's self can be revealed.
Quite often the process is difficult with equal pain and joy.
To perhaps inform and therefore shape the steps ahead by finding one's own authenticity.
